I've redone the image I did not want. Added a nice background to it, expanded the frame, and added Mason back in, this time as a full figure. It looks MUCH better than the last pic, which will be deleted from the previous entry.

The Interview with Apple went okay. IT wasn't much more than "Here, fill all this out, then come back Tuesday."

Something really irked me, though. One was the general feeling of "Shut up" from the interviewer anytime I said a sentence more than three words long (I guess adverbs scared her), and my brain going over the test saying "Not another tech job. They're so boring." In a nutshell, they are - but I'm trained in it, it's mildly challenging (especially on a Mac front). But I'd rather be doing something else, it seems. I don't know what that else is I can do, other than draw - and the comics industry is so sporadic.

After that, I really didn't do anything other than work on the picture, and add a few lines to a script. We were supposed to get thunderstorms. We didn't. Darn it. I like thunder. Tomorrow, if there are any storms in the region, I'm gonna chase 'em.

Saturday, the Ex and I will go see The Wrath of Khan and The Omega Man. :) Talk about geekdom. :)

I promise I'll stop quoting Sifl N Olly songs. But one more, just before bed....

When you go to sleep tonight
Dream about your summer vacations
Big furry whales
Close your eyes... and sleep
Don't forget to breathe

Dream of sugar-frosted rainbows
Extra-large Value Meals
What a steal.

Dream of eating cookie dough
Watch out for the salmonilla,
You know it's a killah,
Close your eyes... and sleep
Don't forget to breathe!

Close your eyes... and sleep
Don't forget to breathe!

Hey, talking about how sporadic the comics industry is ... have you ever heard of Andy Mushynsky? He was an inker or something for Stan Lee and a bunch o' other comics guys. Things fizzled for him and I don't believe he's been employed in that industry for several years now. Last I heard, he's selling computers at Best Buys or something like that. (The only reason I have even this tiny bit of vague, sketchy info is that he's my brother in law ...)

Up until a few years ago (like one or two) I'da said come on up to Syracuse, there used to be a reknowned comics shop in the North Side called Twilight ... everyone knew about it ... there was a lot of support for up n' coming comix and new faces. Since they closed, a couple other comix shops have opened, but I'm not sure what the atmosphere is.

There's also been a few nationally-acclaimed cartoonists and such that have come out of the Syracuse University art school (or something) ... Tom Peyer is one, I think, and locally Joe Orzak is lurking in the shadows.

So maybe there's some hope for ya up here?

hopefully the bearer of useful info ...
Gina
