The first person to correctly guess the full reason why these Shadows have blue eyes gets a sketch of anyone of my characters (or anyone else I can (try to) draw).

Cassidy Blue and FMCarrot are excluded 'cause I told her already. :) If no one gets it in a month, SHE gets the sketch. ;)

Nope.

But you got it later with much coaxing, which disqualifies you from my contest.

However, if you still want a sketch, you can attempt to invent a new form of steel that will revolutionize the railroad industry and become my new intellectual heir.

Well, color clearly has to play an important role in an otherwise greyscale comic, and you've already color-coded the angels with blue and the shadows with red (q.v. their dialogue boxes). With that in mind, I'll make my guesses as follows:

--These are shadows who have somehow gone over to the other side.
--These are angels disguised as shadows, and the color is your way of telling us who we're looking at.
--The shadows and angels are really the same sort of being, and this is the angels' true form.

Even if any of these are correct, I don't know if they'll count as the full reason, but they're my guesses nonetheless.

They're angels in training... Going through the dark initiation period that they later "rise" from. Like shamans. Or something. :)

Wow, Angels that look like shadows. :) That's a neat idea, too...but, no, it's not the true Angel form....

I didn't tell you, because I wrote this story before we started talking again. :)

--These are angels disguised as shadows, and the color is your way of telling us who we're looking at.

Nope - ther really is never any real reason the Shadows and Angels spy on each other...The Shadows don't care who sees what they do, and the Angels can plainly see what Shadows do because they're so blatant.

--The shadows and angels are really the same sort of being, and this is the angels' true form.

You and Ghostangel came up with this idea, which NEVER EVER crossed mymind. I asked Hanna and Andrea about it and thye said no, this is not the true form of an Angel.

--These are shadows who have somehow gone over to the other side.

Even if any of these are correct, I don't know if they'll count as the full reason, but they're my guesses nonetheless.

You're right as to WHAT they are...now to figure out the WHY.

Can't get rid of it, so I blurt it out here.

Andrea's desire to be an angel is contagious. They are obviously carriers. ;-)

I was cruising around the internet thinking about pretty much everything but blue-eyed shadows when a halibut, probably flung by one of the people on the sidewalk, struck me upside the head, and I shouted out:

I know! They're humans who have become shadows!

Then the halibut looked up from the floorboard and said:

If you're wrong you're gonna look pretty foolish.

To which, I replied:

I was just struck upside the head with a halibut. I figure I already look pretty foolish.

o_O

Wow, getting hit by flying halibut is rare indeed...not to mention that it talked to you. Most are usually so incensed they won't give you the time of day....

>I know! They're humans who have become shadows!

All but one shadow is Human. Conversely, all but four Angels are human.
