TUESDAY
MONEY! I GOT MONEY! LOTSA MONEY! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Talked with Elenderel about Angels, religion and Battlestar Galactica (yes, they're related subjects). Which reminds me, I need to finish up that conversation. A power outage killed that conversation...so with $50 in hand...I hit town.
Well, with a slight detour - Walnut creek over FM 969 was a MESS. All traffic was diverted because the creek was overflowing. Thankfully, my (1980s era) map of the county helped me out.
Knowing I would be gone all day, my first stop was...CHINESE BUFFET! Expensive, but a little treat for myself...that ended up not being the treat I wanted. The Sushi was good, but the selection was awful, what I got wasn't all that good, and the watermelon wasn't sweet at all. A waste of $9(!). I shoulda gone down the street and hit the $5 buffet. Their food was better than this was...which is weird cause the food at the $9 place is usually SO much better.
Then the Great Star Wars Hunt began....
I wanted to pick up a copy of "The Art of Star Wars Episode II" so I hit the locally-owned and operated Book People...who I didn't have the book. Scary. This place has EVERYTHING. To not have something is a sin.
So I ran to Half Price books...who were temporarily closed due to a power outage (The storms that hit SanAntonio so badly have hit Austin pretty hard, too, but not nearly as badly) I waited ten minutes and the store reopened...only to tell me they didn't have it either.
No prob, I was enjoying my day in the rain as it was...ran off to Barton Creek Mall. There's a rinky dink bookstore in the mall...no REAL bookstore. Which is kidna a scary confession of a society. Either way, THEY didn't have it either...
Last stop...Border's on Loop 360. The scourge of the Universe...the CHAIN bookstore. Border's had the book! But it wasn't what I expected...turns out I wanted The Insider's Guide to Episode II, not The Art of Star Wars. And that hasn't even been published yet. DARN IT!
So I figured, I had a few bucks, and wanted to buy SOMETHING. And then I found a copy of the Robin Wood Tarot deck...something I'd been thinking about since I did that tarot session with Erin. Since then, I had used a program called Taboo on my NES emulator to do tarot...but it was really confusing, gave you no real cards to look at (Just little icons) and the translations were just awful, even for Engrish. So I picked it up! My first magical purchase.
Erin gave me a wierd look when I bought it...wonder why, that.
Deposited the rest in the bank, got my debit card functioning again and we're off!
I headed back home and said hello to the folks and broke in my deck. At first the readings were jumbled, but the more different types of spreads I did and the more I applied questions to it, the more it made sense.
In all, a good day was had.
TUESDAY
It didn't rain! Dammit.
Most of the day was spent finishing up CS #8. I drew jack for the first time, andI'm rather disappointed in how he came out. I have such a hard time drawing older people, and especially older males. I think I'll mess with him digitally to bring out some of his wrinkles and the like. Any artiste types have any pointers?

I also drew a crowd (on paper) as well. They sure don't' LOOK like anyone involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, but like people I blatantly copied from manga books. Imagine that. :P I'm not reaching burnout, but I'm definitely beginning to reach the limits of my ability.
I managed to find a picture of the crown Starscream wears, so I'm ready to start pencilling in AWFW #19....
I need a new keyboard...anyone out there have a livejournal code I can give to Dean? I used my two up. :P
