Sorry the posts have been a bit ont he light side as of late...I'm just puttering around the house, cleaning here and there, doing some very much needed personal work...cataloging videos, working on AWFW and CS, shaving my legs for the first time in a millenia, repacking clothing.

Yesterday, the whole day was spent cataloging videos, mostly Adult Swim stuff I'd been recording for the last year or so. I got through about 8 tapes, have about 8 more to go, which would bring my videotape collection to about 331 tapes. Yup, I'm a TeeVee geek. It's a semi-obsession. I hardly EVER watch TeeVee, and those 331 tapes go back to at least 1985.

Why?

Cause I get pissed off that something I like dissapears. In 1982, I really got into a show called The Phoenex with Judson Scott. It was about a guy who was the rebirth of a Mayan god. He was searching for his Goddess wife, and, of course, the Governemtn wanted him for his super powers. Your typical sci-fi drifter type story (Cross reference Knight Rider, Galactica 1980, The Hulk). It lasted all of six episodes, and I never saw it again.

A lot of shows I liked over the years dissapeared never to be seen again, like The Powers of Matthew Star, Battlestar Galactica, Star Blazers, You Can't Do That on Television.... It bugged me so much that once we got a VCR, I began recording ANYTHING that remotely caught my eye, so if it ever dissapeared, I had a copy. Hulk Hogan's Rock-n-Wrestling, Super MArio Brothers Super Show, Jem, Wrestlemania, The Transformers. Now, my collection was pretty small. By 1990, I only had about 80 tapes of material. 1995 I had 250. By that time, recording Doctor Who every week had taken up almost everything I had, knowing full well that KLRN would never show it again. The Babylon 5 came on...that took up a billion tapes as well. Sifl-n-Olly...reruns of harder to find shows like The Electric Company and 1960s era Sesame Street...

These last few tapes have been NOTHING but Cowboy Bebop, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab 2021. Yes, they're popular now and are on their third set of reruns...but they won't be on TeeVee forever. Get them while they exist.

The next episode of AWFW will be in color. There'll only be 4 panels to it, because it gets VERY talky, and I don't want to have to draw talking heads. My plans are for three normal sized panels, and one giant fourth panel with dialogue in actual text boxes underneath our two characters.

Speaking of two characters:

Tomorrow I'm going out with dean, for an action packed day of movies, Sealab 2021, possible Thai food (or Indian!) and LOTS of talk talk talk. People around me can't figure out why I like my ex...we parted on (Semi) good terms (yeah, there was a homewrecker involved, but the lustre of our relationship had fallen apart by the time she came along). And you don't spend five years with someone and come away with a certain fondness for the guy. Even if his current significant other is a dick.

The tarot cards I got are all broken in...and I'm getting some GOOD readings off of it. The cards themselves are very pretty...why can't playing cards be that nice?! :)
