Anime Meme: Day 3 - Your Anime crush
There were many over the years. Some weren't so much crushes as they were the characters I was completely enamored with and wanted to BE like them. As a kid, the first sign of me being trans was the fact that I didn't just like Nova from Star Blazers, I wanted to BE Nova from Star Blazers. More on that later, though. No, my first crush...oh, my first anime crush. She was a special one.
Lisa Hayes. Ah, Lisa. Strong confident female in command, authority behind her rank and the attitude to make it stick, sensitive to her friends, occasionally vulnerable and incredibly feminine. And in Robotech, unlike the new Macross dubs, a sultry voice that just gave a lot of credence to her command and femininity.
Melanie MacQueen, wherever you are, you can voice my Lisa any day. Actually, you can voice Lise from AWFW any day, as Lise was based on Lisa.
