Birthdayexpofestarama Day Two

The morning got off to a slight hitch. Jenn II left a message on my machine asking me to call her back because people thought I was going to commit suicide over a note I made on their mailing list. It was a heated discussion about "social abuse" and I mentioned a lot of my trials and tribulations, and the fact that this lead me to believe that death is a celebration. Something to look forward to instead of fear. Something about "Death being something that should be looked forward to" turned into "I'm might die." Explanations were made, a few apologies made, and, finally unsubscribing from a group that has really done nothing but aggravate me was all done before I was awake an hour.

Got an unexpected visit from the parents today. They brought presents. :) My sister gave me a Game Boy Advanced. In a knowing wink, she gave it to me in translucent pink. Gotta love my sis.

They left me with a pseudo-surround sound system. Not really a full surround sound speaker, just a regular stereo system with Two Lefts, Two Rights and a sub woofer. Sub woofers are marvels of the engineering world. I also got some tasty Chinese Food, and a long and enjoyable talk with my parents. They're finally realizing that I'm happy. And I think that's all that matters. Even mom was really mellow. Cake and Ice Cream all around.

Finally saw Planet of the Apes today - it was very different, and very good. I was expecting an almost complete down to the script remake of the movie, especially with the Rod Serling credits at the beginning. And then I got Dune. Dune with Apes. But not quite Dune with Apes, but very close. Enough twists and turns to keep me on my toes (the main gist of the story I got quickly, only to find out I was dead wrong in the middle...that surprises me, and makes me very happy). The ending I'm not so keen on, but it's definitely something Serling would have patted the screenwriter on the back for. And Helena Bonham Carter makes the cutest ape this side of Doctor Zira.

I shared some Cake and Ice Cream with the Ex, who is now asleep on my couch. She says she'll get up in an hour. I doubt she will.

Half the cake is gone, half the Ice Cream is gone.

What an excellent day.

[Post Script - I'm a believer in Soviet Revisionism. I go back to my journal, edit some of the posts, or flat out delete them. I realize now that this, no matter how personal a journal can be, is essentially public, and certain things should not be discussed for fear of misunderstandings. Therefore a lot has been re-edited, and several entries have been wiped out. Ari is still cuter than Zira, however.]
