VOTE VOTE VOTE!
Oct. 3rd, 2001 05:21 pmOkay, peeps. I can't do an official poll since I don't have a paid account (not yet, anyways...believe me, as soon as I get ANY money, I'm planning on buying a permanent place in Livejournal), so I'd love for you to vote by leaving a comment on this entry.
What do you think would be a good title....
STORY:
A girl grows up believing she is an angel without wings.
INTRO:
"When I was younger, I used to believe that my wings simply never sprouted. I knew my halo was there even if I couldn't see it. I'd look up, and my halo would move with my head. But I was so sad my wings never came in."
"My mother used to call me her angel, so I knew I was right. She stopped calling me that when I grew up. She even told me to stop thinking I was an angel. But I knew, deep in my heart, I always was one."
"My name is Andrea. And I'm an angel. I think."
TITLES:
Apotheosis
A Harp Within my Hand
A Wish for Wings that Work (This is the title of an old Bloom County TV Special)
A Wish for Wings
Angel Andrea
Earth Angel (This is the title of a song)
Grounded Angel
The Best of Both Worlds (This is the title of a Star Trek Next Generation episode)
The Last Angel
The Lonliest Angel
Tilted Halo
Wind Beneath My Wings (I think this is the title of a song)
Wingspan
Wings (Also the name of a TV series)
And, of course, any titles you can think of that you think would fit.
There are no winners in this poll...just a hint at which way I should be pointing to for a title. Personally, I'm leaning real heavily towards "A Harp within my Hand" and "A Wish for Wings."
But I suck with titles. :) The original eight titles of the Polychronicon were pretty silly. Closetspace used to be known as "A Different Perspective." I can do episodes titles, but not series titles. :) At least, not well....
What do you, the viewer at home, think?

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
MOM
Wake up! You need
to pick up your Dad!
He's been waiting for
thirty minutes!
Jeeze...want to panic me anymore as I wake up?!
I got up, slapped on some clothes, brushed my hair, and began the hour long trip to where my dad parks his big ole diesel truck. So I'm driving along, I run through downtown...again, I'm surprised at how little the skyline has changed since I was a little kid. We got new freeways in the early 90s, and the Alamodome (AKA The Dead Armadillo Dome), but otherwise, it's the same it's ever been. I made a promise to travel through downtown next chance I got.
That was a LOT sooner than I thought it would be.
When I got there, he sent me home. He didn't need me to take him home after all...so I just wasted an hour without a bath, in a truck with no air conditioning, on a hot steamy day. So I turn around and head back...and decide to go right into town. I take a short drive through downtown San Antonio, and see the town. Gods, I love this city. I do wish I could stay here.
So I got home, and soaked in the Crater mom calls a tub. Got rid of all the grime and grit you get from waking up and doing stuff instead of waking up and taking a shower.
I watched Enterprise. I'm not a big fan of TeeVee, but this series has promise. If they can keep away from ridiculous plots and technical Deus Ex Machinas, I'll stick around.
I got a call from Vancounver Washington to confirm that I might move for the job up there. My parents say to take it. I'm not so sure. I don't mind moving north, but I just got back to Texas, do I want to leave it so soon? I told them I was willing to move inside of two weeks...and my escape to Pennsylvanaia was setup in under two days, but this time, it's my choice, versus something that HAD to be done. Do I really want to leave Texas?
I'm worried.
Something VERY VERY strange happened int he skies last night. 10 to 1 something will happen tomorrow. San Antonio is a very military cirty. I've seen a lot of military craft in the skies over the last twenty or so years I've lived here...and even saw a Stealth Fighter in the air from Kelly. But tonight, I heard the low rumble of a jet kicking in afterburners, or flyiing very low. VERY VERY loud and VERY VERY low. No problem, it's just one plane...but it kept coming back, like the plane was running circles over our house over and over again. I went out, and I didn't see any planes, or anything circling, but the sound continued for almost ten minutes, fading and picking up, fading and picking up. But we never saw the planes. My only thought was that something was up at LAckland Air Force base...and they were launching planes over and over again. And that they were flying low for some reason.
I wonder what's up....
The rest of the day was working on the story...there is now a third and fourth character forming. Perhaps both will be later combined. Anyways, as of right now, her name is Celeste. The other is a male, Andrew. Andrew will definately cause some story changes...as will Celeste.
Had another very long talk with Vaysha, and even talked with Nighyv for the first time, for a good long while. Not to mention PunkCub, who is telling me all manner of scary things before bed. Shame on you.....
