Turns out the Dogfaced Freak note was the result of an inbox being hacked. I only worry about it because it had my phone number on it. I'd hate to get calls and nastiness from it.
Hope I wasn't too much of a bitch to the people I called about it. :)
The rest of the day just plain out...wasn't there. Again, I was just counting minutes until the day ended...then I just happened to catch
Samurai Jack.
I've been kinda missing this show on purpose. I REALLY REALLY hate the art style of it (it's fine for Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff girls, but not fo a serious story). So I saw my first episode of it. I'm pleasantly surprised! The animation style is really bad for that kind of story, in my view, but today's was a really really excellent story. I'm hooked. I suppose I can get used to the Dexter's Lab feel to this cool beans cartoon.
About midnight, I decided I'd done enough dwaddling and began to draw Episode #3 of A Wish for Wings (The Dancing Shadows, Part One). The first few panels are very very simple, and even talking headish. The only real action happens in Panel #4. Panel 5 is pretty simplistic. The fun begins in Panel 6. Hopefully, no one will get too mad, since Panel 5 and Panel 6 are also the entire strip for The Dancing Shadows, Part Two. I drew the entire strip up in under an hour...inked it in 30. Seems the most time consumiing part is the coloring, lettering and compositing. I've got Panels 1-4 completely done (I'm very proud of Panel 4's greys). 5 and 6 will wait until tomorrow.
Part Two will be repeated shots of Panel 5 and 6, with slight difference. Part Three will begin Andrea's path down Angelhood. And we'll might just see angels, too. Really. :) Maybe.
Andrea believes she's a "classical" angel. She believes in halos and wings so much so that she's made her own set of wings. I'm an athiest...I don't believe in angels...but if I were to see an angel, I don't see angels in that "classical" way...as a matter of fact, I think they look an awful lot like what was shown in a Battlestar Galactica episode. I thought those angels were beautiful. I also think the Angel of Death would prolly look a lot like Neil Gaiman's Death (but we won't see her in Andrea's story, pending copyright infringement thingies :) ).
Anyways. I hope you'll all be happy with Strip #3, when it comes out in December.
