Okay, big update as soon as I wake up tomorrow. I promise.

Many good things abound. But sleep comes wether I want it to or not.

As promised, the journaly thing for the last few days.

FRIDAY
Well, the day began like any other...except for the foreknowledge that I was going to see Steph. And that mom was doing another Gingerbread house party type thing. So I took off on a 90 mile drive so I wouldn't have to leave in the middle of the gingerbread party. My extended family woulda given me hell for that. I visited some places I used to go as a kid, noticed how much things have changed in the last ten (and in some places 20) years. Progress, they call it. ::sigh:: A lot of these mini malls were beautiful forest to play in. Maybe that's why I I just don't run into forests anymore - I'm too afraid it'll all go away and be no fun anymore. I should visit The Tangent Trees more often...they're not likely to go away anytime soon. I got a call from Steph at 8:30 on the outskirts of Bexar county - we wouldn't be able to get together after all. That was okay - it at least finalized some plans for me. I went straight home only to find the gingerbread party still going. After spending the thirteen hours it takes to say hi to everyone, and for me to be told to retreat to the bedroom, I logged onto my computer. On it was a nice EMail from Syleniel and Dan about getting together Sunday. A few calls and EMails were placed and arrangements for Sunday were made. Deener wanted to come along with my to meet Dan and Syl. I thought this was not a good idea, but, frankly, I couldn't stop him as he was most likely going to pay for my stuff. This annoyed me, and I asked Dan if he thought it'd be okay. Dan said it would be okay if Deener was comfortable with the subject matter. Well, Deener would be, but it'd definitely be beyond his scope of experience for The Man from Woolrich. :) Hee hee....I went to bed with much lateness.

SATURDAY
I knew full well this would be a wasted day, and I wasted it with the best of them. I was finalizing plans for Sunday and basically, hanging out on the net reading the FAE board and Elenari.net to catch up and become a LITTLE more learned for Sunday. Watched a couple of DVD movies...found the Playstation 2 that my parents were hiding for Christmas (Sad, really, usually, they're very good at hiding presents...I just stumbled right into it looking for a Super Nintendo controller). Looked up those cloaks you saw, and right as I was about to post the journal of the day...I found out Google was archiving back to 1981. ::DROOL:: Erin got back to me - and said there really wasn't anything we could do to get together on Monday, so staying over at Deener's/Erin's from Sunday to Monday was now a moot point. New Girl would be happy about that. :) Erin's books are on the way. Now to intercept them before mom finds out what they are and decides she can't have them in her house. This is a good hing because my other magick authority is annoyed with me. :P

The rest of the evening was spent simply...well...being silly and reading old old posts from days when I liked the Internet. Reading those old posts really filled me with a sense of warm community and, heck, even love from the posters. Back before the Internet turned into a cesspool of spam and unabashed hate for everything. Gosh, I miss those days.

New project formed in my head - download and keep a local copy of every post I ever made and the threads linking them. I'll probably never do that as I know I've posted over 5,000 posts to Usenet over the last seven years. Doing a search for "jenn dolari" alone brings up 11,000 hits.

SUNDAY
Some days I lead a most interesting life. :)

Woke up, took a shower and took off to Austin. Got there at 4PM, where, to my horror, New Girl had decided to go along as well. This was a No No. BIG NO NO. Uh Uhn. Not no way no how. This was not only well outside the New Girls realm of experience, but her personality would NOT have made for a good first impression. Deener decided to stay at home with New Girl (who was still pushing to come along, or AT LEAST SPY for us for safety).

I'm a very trusting soul, I'll admit. Probably too trusting. When meeting new friends I do so with all my defenses down and a big hearty handshake (Well, big hearty female handshake), and I don't expect the worst from people I meet. I met Deener that way - with all my defenses down. I met Erin that way. And now I' met Dan and Syl that way. I mean, I don't choose to meet people out of the blue without getting to know them. But those two were ADAMANT that someone come along for protection. These are the same people who gave me mace for my key chain. It's one of those things where I'm probably still too trusting, but do my best to stay out of situations where I would need it.

Anyways - they decided to do the unforgivable and lend me their cell phone. They'd call at some random time and make sure I was okay. I had half a mind to turn the damned thing off, but if I did, they'd most likely start going house to house looking for me.

Deener is very paranoid about stuff. He claims he does it in the name of chivalry, but he's paranoid. New Girl's insecurity feeds his paranoia. I fear the amounts of fear those two could bring up together at once.

Anyways, I went to Dolce Vita in Hyde Park and got me an excellent hot chocolate. I showed up and saw a girl who looked a LOT like Syl. But I couldn't tell if it was her or not. So I got a table and waited, playing with the little candle thing as I often do.

After a while the girlI thought was Syl left and then Dan and Syl came in.

Some background first.

Dan and Syl run Elenari.net, a site about Elves incarnate on Earth...a site that my Anonymous Friend Whose Name I Know sent me to for more info. They wanted to get together with me seeing that I had an Austin address on my website (PO Box, you pervs).

Anyways, they came in, and, lemme tell ya, within two minutes I had gone from "People who thought they were elves" to "PEople who ARE elves." A good time was had by me (And hopefully by all, I tend to babble when I first meet people). They asked why I was on the board, I told them about The Friend Who Shall Remain Anonymous Until He Says Otherwise and how he recommended me for the board, and how I was really intrigued by it all. We started talking and after a time,we went to dinner, at Mother's Earth & Garden. Lemme tell ya, I likes that place. They have hibiscus mint tea there, so that already one point in their favor...but they also have a "Garden room" where the room is wood panelled with TONS of trees. ::grin:: The phoen rang with Dean adn them checkingu pon me...I swore I'd never answer a cel phone. EVER. I've broken that promise and should be beaten severely for it.

We talked some more, had a neat discussion about gender stuff, and, frankly, I think they got a little more from me, than I got from them. I really didn't want to pry too much. I asked around, especailly about memories and such. Most cool. The evening felt like it went on forever, but ti was only a two hours. The Famous JMS Babylon 5 Time Dialation Bubble, squeezing four hours of fun in an hour.

However, as soon as it was all over, my sef-doubts kicked in high gear (Did I piss them off? Was I silly? Did I babble too much? WasI interesting? Did they have a good time?). This always happens. It happened after I met Deener, Erin, Dave, and a million other people. This time, I just had to stop and say "DAMMIT - I was ME. Maybe a little bit more scattered, but ME." Of course, that didn't stop it, but I had nothing to be ashamed of.

When I got back to Deener's I told them all about the meeting, and realized it was good New Girl didn't come. She was just not ready for the mindset of meeting elves. :) She couldn't wrap her head around it. Hee hee.

After she left, Deener and I talked for hours. I worry about that guy. I want him to be happy, and I don't think he is. I worry about the big lug, I do. Yeah, he's been a wierdo lately, but I still got feelings for him.

He does want me for a roomate again, and he's planning on moving back to PA eventually. Whie I wouldn't mind being a roomie again, I don't know if I'd wanna go back to PA. I'dhave to think about it.

Today, well, my fears were abaited as Dan wrote me and said he had a good time and wants to do it again. :)

What a really cool cool day that was. :)

Did I mention how everything jut kinda went "Right?" About how the Zombie Parents gave me money out of the blue? How traffic was light? How good the vibe I had all day way?

I'm almost thinking I dreamed yesterday. ;)

1 EXT. FOREST - NIGHT

A view of the sky above a heavily forested region. It is darkest
night, with a few light clouds marring the perfect sky. There is no
        moon to be seen.

A FLASH of light appears overhead, dropping a body down into the
        forest.

2 CLOSE ON BODY AS IT FALLS

The body falls BREAKING BRANCHES OF TREES as it drops an awfully long way
down flopping and smashing it's way down through the trees. PAN DOWN as
the body HITS the ground, revealing an unconscious man. The man is
dressed in a T-shirt and boxer shorts. He's a good looking guy, a
product of working out, and decent excersize. Short hair, and, as
we'll hear later a great voice. This is BILL. And Bill is pretty
        unconscious.

3 EXT. FOREST - MORNING

Same shot as Scene 2, but it is now morning. PAN DOWN to his sap
stained T-shirt. A sword jumps into frame, scratching the T-Shirt.
Bills hand absentmindedly scratches where the sword has touched him.
Another jab from the sword and Bill startles awake, jumping away from
the sword. TRACK WITH BILL as he scuttles backwards, and the sword
        follows.

                        BILL
                The hell? THE HELL?!

Nothing really happened today...but that was expected: I feel like I'm recovering. :) From what, I don't know, but I've been drained and tired, yet "filling up" all day. :)

Go figure.

I wish I could take dad to work now, so I could watch TV in bed withotu the fear of falling asleep. That would very nice, all burrowed up in my comforter, listening to LAw & Order. :)
