So I went back to Friedrich park, taking all the trails I never took before. They were much easier, but were scattered all over the park, so I think I got as much a workout GETTING to the trails instead of taking the same one I always do. I got a nice little surprise, too.

One of the trails is called the Water Trail. It mentioned that Bexar counties oldest windmills still pumped water for there...so I figured I'd check it out. What I thought I would see was a Windmill near a creek bed away from the trail itself. What I got was the faint sounds of water dripping and the sound of squeaky metal and then suddenly, I was right there. The Windmill was huge, and the pump dribbled water into a large cistern. The cistern itself was mostly filled with rocks probably so most of the water wouldn't go to waste, and Koi goldfish swam in the cistern. MOST beautiful. I sat there for a while, just drinking in the sound of the wind dribbling water and creaking metal. I coulda sat there forever...but I wouldn't have lost weight that way.

So on I went. The brochure said there was a spring nearby as well on this trail, and I found it - it was a very very very small puddle of water, with a very small amount trickling out of the rocks itself. I sat and watched a while while birds washed themselves in the water. I REALLY dig this park. :)

I also found a nice clearing on the "Upland Range Trail" You basically work your way through a bunch of woods and come to a canopied clearing. The trail was really narrow, so I doubt people use it much - I wonder if I could get away with meditating there?

On this trip, The Final Nightmare solidified - I know where that is going and how it will be drawn, and basic beats I HAVE to hit on. It'll be a semi-wild ride.

Now, I also changed the ending to the third sequel. Only a few of you know the Whole Story - well the Whole Story has changed (well, at the end). I like how it works.

Not to mention a SWEET little side trip for Allison. Sometimes my characters come up with some cool stuff, and Allison gave me a doozy to play on. A...necessary distraction. :)

Hee hee....

Keenspace is back up, and Episode #4 of Closetspace is now available from there - however, I've decided to drop the colors to 16 colors on all pure B&W strips. I get a hefty file size decrease, and very little distortion. I'll keep the originals, though, as a color map, and probably save 256 color versions of all my strips for future reference.

And now...I DID promise that Episode One of The Final Nightmare would appear today, bu tI had to push it up a week.

However...I didn't want people to go COMPLETELY empty handed.

So if you're interested in how The Final Nightmare begins...

AARRGGHH I've taken the alst two weeks off, thinking that my banner page for The Final Nightmare would fend off any questions about When Episode 15 would start ( http://awishforwings.keenspace.com/0014a.html ).

AND STUPID ME FORGOT TO PUT THE LINK TO IT. 27 people got to it, I Can only imagine that I accidentally erased the link when I updated the frames in AWFW and that was two weeks ago.

I am SSSSSSSOOOOOOO fucking stupid. I wonder how many readers I lost when they thought I had abandonned the strip.

Goddammit.

I'm so pissed right now....goddammit....
