Jenn had a mini breakdown all day yesterday.

At the end of the day, I was convinced I was going to put in my two weeks notice tomorrow, and walk off the job if I couldn't get out of work on Saturday.

After a day of ltierally sloughing through work, we managed to move a LOT of the house, which is good, and turn the truck over to the mechanic. So far $230 of the $500 of the Save Jenn's Truck Fund is spent, but the brakes, battery and oil have been replaced. No noises about a cracked bloc, so I think that first guy was scamming me pretty hard.

After everything was done, I literally collapsed in bed and woke up several hours later. I decided NOT to put in my two weeks notice, but to keep my eye out for "manufactured" reasons to fire me.

See, there's something going on here that isn't very Kosher.

We all got called into individual meetings where we were told "Metric X must be at Y% by July 11th, or you're gone." This is not good news, considering that metric is pretty hard to get to. Compliance is 98% (No it's not the logging one I made fun of earlier in the year). Well, I know better than to take that at face value. What they will do is "distill" the techs down. First it'll be Metric X. Then Metric A. Then MEtric B. Untill such time that no techs remain.

My fear here is that we will be terminated for "Not being able to do the job." Which looks VERY VERY bad on a resume. I'd rather quit before that happens. In my case, though, I can make Metric X. I'm worried they'll manufacture SOMETHING to boot me out.

What do YOU, the viewer at home, think?

First estimate is now at $1500. Probably on top of the $300 already spent.

Holy shit.

Thanks a lot dad. 10 years of "patching" really worked in the long run. And to think I was going to pay you another $100 to "patch" it again.

Did I mention I'm having another mini breakdown?

How am I going to get to work with this fucked up 4x10 schedule?
How am I going to PAY for this truck, when I only have $800 dollars? How am I going to EAT when the next month will probably be sunk into the pickup?

What if the truck's block really IS cracked? That immediately adds $1500 right there. If I don't spend ANYTHING, I'll get it paid in 2.5 months....but then what about the impending layoff?

I literally can't think right now...

Pray for mojo.

Okay, now we begin the MANIC swing of the day.

Got a call from the mechanic.

$950 to do the first set of repairs. This is the battery, the oil change, only the rear brake pads, rotors, axels, break line, emergency brake. $100 more than I planned, but not impossible. I can get that done. WOO HOO!

And then PArt 2

$650 for the second set of repairs, including front brake pads, rotors, axels and engine work.

I can do this! The $900 set of repairs is being done now - the $650 will be done in two weeks when I've saved up for it.

HOT DOG!

So now I'm going to be EXTREMELY manic until it comes time to ask "How am I going to get to work on Sunday?" and "What am I going to eat for two weeks." But I'm too happy to care right now. :)
