Laptop gets here TODAY!

AWFW is mostly inked. See what happens when I actually have time to work, instead of havnig to scramble to get my weekends back? AWFW is going to get a bit wierd in the next few issues. Hopefully what I'm doing will make sense in the long run. Basically, I'm going to be doing a montage, that spans over a year. Andrea will train, and fall in love with Michael over that year. I'm trying to find a way to do that over maybe two or three weeks. I sorta of have it working in my head, but I hope the thread will be clearer.

I call it my "Superman" scene...since it's a montage that takes over a year, where we see her train, and fall in love with Michael. The Superman version of that was seeing the young Superman ask Jor-El "Who am I?" which then turns into a 12 year montage of training.

I picked up a copy of Jesus Christ Superstar. Which should be mandatory listening for any and all people, regardless of religion. It's just that good a musical. I dare you not sing along with Judas. I DARES YA.

Three days off was NIIIIIICE. I start work again tonight. Oof, punch right in the gut.

I'm hoping to have CS all pencilled by the end of my shift.

Well, it's here. Latitude L400, 700MHz, 20GB. Very nice. Although it's not all peaches and cream. The Laptop was supposed to be shipped with a DVD, and instead was shipped with a CD drive. One quick call to the Dell Financial Services offices and a DVD drive is on it's way!

That's when I noticed the sound didn't work all that well. Actually, didn't work at all. So, I put my Dell Tech Support training to use. Plugged my headphones into the headphone jack, and lo and behold! sound! Coming out of the REGULAR speakers on the laptop...

...wha wha wha?

Then I noticed the jack was REALLY REALLY REALLY loose and it stopped working alltogether after a few minutes. SO I got to call...Dell TEch Support....

It's WIERD being the one on the other end of the phone....

So I called in, talked to an old cubicle mate of mine, who is still there, and am having the motherboard replaced on it sometime today (I hope).

Then I realized that the external DVD and Floppy drives were just "raw." They were the modules without the sleeve that was supposed to come with it. That's on it's way, too.

So, here I am, siting on the laptop, typing this all in...and it's been like Christmas Morning TWICE this month! :D

Bad thing about living the hours, I do - I'm sleeping on the couch yet again, so i can make sure to get the phone when the tech guy calls, and be around when the Airborne Express guy delivers the DVD drive.

Man this keyboard is tiny. :D
