Woke up to a ringing in my ear that was Dean calling in to report that he couldn't make it to Royer's, and for me to go on my own. Looking at the time he called and I woke up (5PM) and taking in account the 1 hour Girlification I do everymorning AND the 1 hour drive out there, I decided I wasn't going to go to Royer's either. :)So...I layed (lied?) in bed a bit, staring at my cieling fan, reached over to the phone and called Emily. No answer...
So I decided to take some time and clean house, and get my room in order so I could take a few pics with the new camera. This (plus about a liter of Coke) ended up turning into a complete overhaul of the room, including adding some long awaited purple christmas lights along the cieling, a disco ball from the cieling fan, and a rearranging of toys on the toyshelf.
Then I sat down and called Emily. No answer...
So I sat down and cleared out some computer files, got it ready to run a backup while I slept, went out and got some frozen pizza and calamari salad, took the pics of around the house...
Then I sat down and called Emily. No answer...
(Of course, if I had HAD a real female childhood, I do believe this would be the part where I'm doodling little hearts and stuff in my Lisa Frank notebook)
No problem. I made the pizza, and who should pop online but Emily, which lead into a hour long call that went way way way way too fast. She was as nervous as I was, and when I'm nervous, I babble and joke. So I'm afraid I came across as too jokey and babbly. She came across just fine. Either way, it was a good hour of talk. To save my prepaid phone card, we took it back it IM for another few hours and just jabbered (in the best sense of the word) away there.
This is where I explained the Cunning Plan, and we both decided to push it forward. We're going to meet up at Trinoc. :)
The plan goes like so. My plane tickets are already bought, my hotel room is being taken care of. So I'm good for Trinoc already, several months out. The idea now here is to help Emily come down from Victoria and meet up together here for the convention. I figure if it works for Erin and Lissa, might be good for me. :) It's going to be a bit expensive, but not impossible. And it sure beats trying to pry another vacation out of my manager between now and July (I seriously regret not looking up plane fares before this vacation, I would have completely gone if I knew how cheap a flight to Seattle was).
The rest of the evening was just more clean up, and getting ready for The Big Backup...
Thanks to everyone who told me "Oh, just do it already." :)
Update: Just ran through a quick tarot reading before bed. Basically boiled down to: Emily is the Page of Cups. Keep your financial wits about you, don't be reckless and everything will turn out okay.
It was really funny, usually, I do a "one card" reading on my subject after I do the big card reading - But Page of Cups came straight up as my crossing card. Never bothered to do my one card reading after that. :)
