The good news:
1) My weight is down. I'm in the 200s again (at least until I finish this sandwich).
2) My blood pressure is down (but my work day isn't over yet).
3) I have a prescription for spiro (now up to 400mg a day) and estradiol (4mg a day still).
4) I gots me a complimentary flu shot (ow).
The bad news:
1) My insurance, which never erally covered my transition stuff to begin with may not cover my high blood pressure and cholesterol stuff either (it may see it as a pre existing condition). If this is the case, my costs are going to quintuple. At which point I will just throw my hands up, buy my meds from mexico, and die happily of a stroke and heart attack as a woman a the age of 35.
We're hoping that doesn't happen.
I don't really talk about my health much - there's no need to. My genetics have already told me no matter what I do, I will be fat, I will get diabetes, I will always have high blood pressure and will have at least one heart attack in my life. I may have more if that one isnt' fatal.
It's not a rosy picture, which is why I'm vary wary of doctors. I would rather spend my time and money getting hormones and SRS than spending money to simply postpone what is coming.
Today's visit wasn't bad, other than me being late, but as soon as I heard glucose test, and that they wanted me to buy a blood pressure monitor, and all these others non-trans related stuff, my eyes began to roll. I'm going through with all this - but only if insurance is willing to fork over some dough.
If not, thank you Doctor, nothing personal, but if I'm going to a whole paycheck on medicine, it's going to be on trans medicine. I'm going to die of one of these things anyway - let's spend the money on keeping the body female until then.
