Over the last couple of days we've had a fair number of folks come by our place in Second Life asking us if we were Jewish, greeting us with "Shalom" and asking if my house was a synagogue (Are the houses crucifix looking crossbeams not enough?)
I began poking around the other night and found out that a synagogue has moved in literally on the other side of the tracks. There were a few folks there, so I walked up and asked if the place was new. They told me it wasn't new, but had just recently moved across from my place, and that they'd just gotten featured in a Jewish newspaper.
So I grabbed a landmark and'll pass it along to people who get lost looking for the temple.
Something finally occured to me, though. One of the folks there asked if I was Jewish. I sat and thought for a second - I've never been able to quantify what I was...but I finally came up with an answer to questions like that:
"I'm athiest with a side of paganism. And I'm still taking antacids for this mornings Super Sized Mexican Roman Catholicism Combo Meal."
Made them laugh.
On retrospect, I'm glad I didn't go looking for the temple in my Hanna outfit. Nothing like showing up at a Synagogue claiming you're an angel while wearing glowing white Muslim hijab.
