Unlike The Fool, which was a pretty much a mostly straight forward reinterpretation of the more traditional Tarot Cards, this one, the Devil, is actually got some meaning, directly related to the characters on it.

Carrie's card is about jumping in without thinking - exactly how she's protrayed at the beginning of the series. When I began thinking about an Allison, the only thing that came to mind was "Bondage to her mistake" and since she's had a sex change that didn't exactly agree with her, it made a lot of sense to have Allison as BOTH the humans in the Devil card.

If you look at Allison, she's dressed in her finest clothes, looking wonderfully beautiful, but seeing the chains she's locked into in order to get there for the first time. Why the first time? Cause Allen, Allison's old self, is too busy looking at her in envy to notice her chains (let alone his own).

So, who is the Devil? I thought about Morningstar, but it didn't seem right to have him there. Instead, Abaddon, who is MUCH more malevolent than Morningstar was perfect. I have her kneeling because she's ready to spring into action at you if you turn her down. Her right hand is beckoning you (instead of just being held up as in most cards) to join her. And to kind of ground this card more into the traditional picture, I added spotlights (that don't work on her as she literally radiates darkness) that give her horns and wings, like the Baphomet type devil on most cards, as well as a headband with the pentagram on it.

And who is the base of Abaddon's power? The actual Devil himself, Morningstar, who'se face is in the altar base, comeplete with three pointed crown. Can't take credit for that one - Erin suggested it as I drew it. Always there - but not always in full view.

This one had a LOT more meaning in it than The Fool, and it was a hell of a lot of fun to do.
