Its official! Barring any lifechanging circumstances, Emily and I are going to Inuvik, NWT, Canada on the summer solstice. :)

Inuvik averages a high in the mid 60sF/high 10sC, a low of mid 40sF/7C during Solstice. Records are 90F/32C and 30F/0C. Totally doable. Winter Solstice: -15F/-26C for lows, -5F/-19C for highs. I'd LOVE to see 24 hours of night, but...yeah. Not happening.

It's also an eight day drive from Seattle, an almost 5000 miles round trip (And sixteen days driving!). Not sure the pickup would be able to handle that without trouble. She's reliable, but that's a strain. Still, rental car if all else fails. Or and overhaul of the pickup.

Wonder if we could do a side trip into Alaska....
