So, we sat and watched Dr. Who, then we had a little crying, then a pillow fight. I do love being a girl sometimes. :)

It's 9/11, and I'm sure there are going to be a great many posts about those terrible events ten years ago. This will be my one and only post about it today.

There's a great site at http://www.historycommons.org/project.jsp?project=911_project which shows all the events of 9/11 as collected from news stories, books, current events and interviews, and presents them in super comprehensive timeline of the events stretching from the 1970 to today.

There's a lot there, including some tidbits like a possible attempt on the President Bush's life early that morning, a fifth hijacking that was thwarted by a quick thinking captain, and the mass confusion that was just recently revealed by the released tapes of the FAA, but have been reported here for years.

It's sobering stuff.

"'The scale is too large for me to put in my head,' said a weary Mike Forstner, a Texas State University biologist. 'A significant portion of the Lost Pines ecosystem has been destroyed.'

"Scientists say the unique Lost Pines forest in Bastrop County will regenerate, as it has countless times over thousands of years — but not within the lifetimes of many of the people who made it their home."

That last sentence nearly made me lose it. My drives down Park Road 1 and the Gotier Trace will never really ever be the same.
