Terrible dreams all night long. Invasion of the Body Snatchers type stuff involving friends and family. Slept very little. Gonna be a long day.

So the last six panel of AWFW should have

So the last six panel of AWFW should have just been drawn six times. Instead they've been drawn 14 times, since two crashed out multiple times.

Also, ever since I started inking in Illustrator, I've loved the clean lines I get from it, and super small file sizes for print quality strips, but there's a serious lack of detail in the inks. It looks like a coloring book. Illustrator also keeps me stuck at a computer all night long.

And the crashing. Oh, man, every time I lose my work, I just don't want to draw the rest of the night.

I started using it because a lot of my artist friends chastised me for not doing my comics a "professional" way. And while the results were nice, my frustration level went straight through the roof. Especially when I went "all digital."

But...you know...If I was ever going to be professional, it would have been ages ago. Why the heck do all this if the older way worked faster and better but isn't "industry standard?"

So, I'm going back to drawing and inking on paper, and coloring in PSP. I didn't have near the heartbreak since PSP constantly autosaved, paper doesn't crash, my hand inking is more detailed and as long as I have a high quality EPS file I can print it as a book.

Maybe this way, since I'm also not tied to my desk for drawing, I can get back to 12 panels a week.

Alright, Jenn. Its been a rough 13 hours. You did a bad thing, but bad things are okay when done rarely. You have glucose strips, check your blood sugar in an hour and try not to do it again.

But I totally deserved that candy.
