Jul. 2nd, 2013 02:54 pmGot a nibble on a $17/hr job. The hitch? It's at Dell. Given how my last two terms of employment went there, there are a LOT of questions I've asked before I say "Yea" or "Nay."
On top of that, they've requested I be A+ network certified, which I'm not. Not a requirement, but I'm sure it'll go to someone with that certification.
Still pushing for it.

Jul. 2nd, 2013 04:20 pmI just had a Eureka moment in the shower.
I've never been good at math, so while I've been asking for $15/hr based on what I made at my last job...I didn't take into account that I was, for most of the year, I only worked 36-32 hours a week.
After recalibrating those 32 and 36 hour weeks to a 40 hour a week equivalent...suddenly the reason I couldn't make it work in Seattle became INCREDIBLY clear. And suddenly $12/hr at this new job, doesn't seem like such a huge step back.
Still...gonna be rough. Keep aiming for the higher paying jobs, Jenn.
