Jul. 31st, 2013 05:37 pmLadies, Gentlemen, and Invited Transgender Species. I have a job. The pay is excellent. But it comes with two problems...
(1) It's a 90 day contract, with only a slim chance at being full time. Still, three months at A Lot Of Money means I can save up.
(2) It's for one of the two jobsites where I worked, and was immediately fired for being transgendered.
Problem 1 is not really a problem. Especially as I have another job in the running, and I can keep looking AS I work.
Problem 2, though...that's a toughie. I took the job knowing I wouldn't be working onsite at the company that fired me. This has changed. The pay went up, but now I must work onsite. The same place the fired me. I brought this up with the temp agency who told me that they'd work with me to make sure everything was good on their end, and I assured them they wouldn't get any problems from me. But at the same time, I was fired, I attempted to sue and was unable to, and now I'm going back into the lion's den.
The money is good, though. The desperation is high. And if I got fired now, I'd have a case with Austin's EEOC, if not Texas or Federal. And I still have one more job I'm waiting to hear from soon.
Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.
