Sep. 19th, 2013 01:46 pmI am stressing the hell out.
I've often said my job its a glorified technical support secretary, but that's changed the last couple of days.
The job is pretty stressful as it is well with no documentation and very little guidance but it's starting to pick up. Normally given time this wouldn't be a problem we pick things up pretty quickly. The problem is one of my coworkers.
One of my coworkers is not just an A type personality but a AAA type personality maybe even a quadruple a type personality. She's constantly flitting around like a hummingbird looking for nectar just every five seconds. She herself is said she has to be busy all the time she gets bored.
The problem is it that when she gets bored she wants to find more work. She actively goes out of her way to find more work and then volunteers the rest of the service desk to do that work.
On top of that every single new challenge isn't met with the feeling of ”this is a job I can do” but ”OMG there's an emergency and I'm the only one who can save the day we must all work together to save humanity Red Alert Red Alert Red Alert.”
This is taking an already stressful job, one where I'm not sure I know what I'm doing and one where I'm not sure I want to do what I'm doing and taking it to the Nth degree.
What's worse is that my manager's obviously eager to get this project successful has taken her up on the offer and is giving us every single assignment that she comes.
We are way beyond what we were originally hired to do and its become incredibly stressful. For everyone on the team. So much so that today I actually had to get away from the desk for a while until extended break.
While this isn't the reason I'm looking for more work, it definitely helps encourage me to get out of there.
If there's time later on tonight I'll finally make that post about why I'm looking for new work.

Sep. 19th, 2013 07:08 pmAh, diabetes. When you're suffering from low blood sugar, your medicine is candy. :)
I keep an iron grip on my diet to keep my blood sugar low. It's how I "beat" my Type II Diabetes. I haven't needed an insulin shot since my birthday when I blew my diet.
But what sucks is when I screw up, I don't usually screw up with my blood sugar going too high, but too low, like today. High blood sugar is bad for me, but usually doens't affect me. Low blood sugar makes me shakey and jittery, which sucks.
Although everything LOOKS good for today. I wonder what made everything go wonky?
