Dec. 30th, 2013 08:26 amWhile talking with Scott over dinner, an interesting twist came up as to why I was never hired full time at Nintendo came up: I was too valuable where I was.
I'd always gotten little hints and asides saying that the Wifi group there thought pretty highly of me. There want anything overt except for that one award I got, which a coworker deserved more than me...I just took her ball and ran with it.
Still...it wouldn't have changed anything. I still had to leave because I could afford to stay on what they were paying. And, let's be honest: I'm not cut out for management and was pretty good where I was. ;)
