Sep. 11th, 2014 03:57 pmRunning into a serious problem with the jobs. They're all offering $10-12/hr. If I even mention $16/hr, which is what I need to get even a small apartment in Austin, I'm basically told "Thanks for applying!" No negotiation, no nothing.
Unless I get $16/hr, there's no need for the job - I'll lose my apartment no matter what, but $16 is what will get me a cheap studio or even efficiency. At $12, I'd need to find an apartment in Austin for $360/month. And I was paying MORE than than in much cheaper San Antonio in 1996.
I think I'm in trouble.

I'm linking to just the events of 9/11, but even just the reports on this day may show you something you didn't know before. All the events are sourced from news reports, commission reports, articlles and current events postings. It's an amazing read.
