Nov. 24th, 2016 03:18 pmIt's been a rough couple of weeks, what with the election, changes in the job, and other stresses (mostly related to said election). It got to a point, where I was feeling pretty poorly about Thanksgiving.
But there are always things to be thankful for. I'm thankful for people who take chances on me, despite my track record. I'm thankful for people who allow me to lean on them, until I can get my own feet. And for those who encourage me, knowing my faults better than I do. You know who you are. Thank you.
I'm thankful for my Seattle family - they've picked me up when I was down, helped me financially when I needed it, encouraged my creative efforts, and despite being the weaker of the cartoonists in it, have always treated me as an equal. We've had our stresses lately - I'm hoping those can be smoothed over because they're worth it.
I'm thankful for my readers, and now watchers, of my comics and gaming streams. I know I've been light on the comics, that'll change soon. And heavy on the streaming. That may also change soon. I'm hoping you'll read my books once they're finished, whenever that is. When I started the comics 16 years ago, I didn't expect I would have a following. I'm thankful for Kevin, who has kept my website going since before there was a comic to produce.
I didn't expect to be a known name in the transgender community, and I'm thankful for that. My advice has not always been the best, and the community and I have not always seen eye-to-eye, but I'm happy to still have a place there.
For my family and friends? I'm thankful for the ones I've known, the new ones in my life, and those yet to be met.
Thank you.
