Thoughts Before Bed

The Oregon Trail Genevieve goes by Ginny.

With the addition of Ginny my book is starting to suffer a problem that seems to happen with all my stories. It's become 90% women.

For Closetspace this isn't an issue, as it deals with two trans women and thier friends. But even then I consisted adding a male character (a bass player named Marcos San Felipe I'd planned if Closetspace UK got produced) to round out the gender lopsidedness.

AWFW also has a heavy female to male ratio, although my main problem there is they tend to be bad guys (although more than a few are good guys).

But for Genevieve all but three of the characters are women. Dr Johnson, Genoveva and the Genoveva in the 500ADs.

I've considered making Catherine's mother into her father but I lose l
that mother-daughter dynamic I wanted to have. I thought about Dr Ayala male, but I wanted to make sure there was a woman doctor. I tried to make one of the bad guys a man, but I already get a lot of flak for making nearly all the men in my stories bad guys (and I agree with that statement). Many of the historical Genevieves are women, and some I want to remain women to explore gender roles. I've even considered making Ginny male and changing the dynamic of that story before it starts developing into something more concrete.

Heck, I even considered making the Genevieve syndrome women-only to explain the lopsided-Ness, but that really stretched a barely creditable thing into a ridiculous thing.

Any suggestions?
