It's been a rough day.

I woke up this morning to hear Animesh Karna passed away. He was one of the first people I met on the internet back in the early 90s, and he and I became fast friends. He had a nickname for me he used up until the last time I talked with him: "Petal."

Our friendship developed quickly, and while our lives expanded past the Mortal Kombat usenet group, he always remained involved in my life, usually video game related, but often about his dancing and my cooking.

I didn't keep up as much as I should have later in our lives, but seeing his posts on Facebook always gave me a smile.

Take care, Animesh. Your Petal will miss you.

There's also a Schrodinger's VeryBadThing/VeryGoodThing but I won't know about it until tomorrow. Thankfully, no matter what happens, I got my money back. But if bad thing happens, it'll be one of those "You Ruined Christmas" moments, even with my money returned.
