May. 28th, 2019 11:34 pmA few weeks ago, I posted that meme about whether you hear voices narrating your life. I've since become kind of suspicious of the "Only creative or traumatized people get that voice" as EVERYONE said they had that voice.
But something someone said surprised me. When they'd read a book...they DIDN'T imagine the imagery in the book. And my jaw dropped because...well...I thought everyone read that way!
When I read a book, I don't imagine (or as another person said "vividly Hallucinate") the imagery in it. Instead, what I experience is "hearing the story." Like someone is telling it to me in an audiobook format. Just with more that one narrator/reader depending on the characters in the book.
I'd never realized that was not the norm, and it explains why I prefer movies and TV for entertainment (I'm not much of a reader anymore), and why my writing strengths are dialogue, scriptwriting and comics. It's also why Genevieve is VERY hard for me to write - I don't have a lot of faith in my ability to "Describe" a story, as much as describe a set, or write reams of dialogue (which I think I'm good at).
As Liz and Naomi mentioned last night - I'm not so much a writer as I'm a storyteller.

May. 28th, 2019 11:34 pmCause I haven't said much publicly lately, there's some movement on The Musical. More as more Things Happen.
In the meantime, want to hear some music from the musical? Wanna see a cute dance show with costume changes? Check out Ashley-and-Shanti's "Ashley Eriksson Disco Project" page at https://www.ashleyeriksson.com/aedp.html
It's not the musical...but definitely part of its genesis!

May. 28th, 2019 11:45 pmSpeaking of writing, Liz and Naomi mentioned that the Alexandria story would make for an excellent anthology series, and there are a few scifi mags and websites who may buy them.
I have a few "Episodes" in my head so far as well as a story arc for one of the characters, so maybe that's something to look into.
The ship is now an "Archive Ship" or "Ark Ship" and not "Library Ship" because the "Library Ship Alexandria" is way too on the nose.
