Odd Realization Before Bed

In researching sites to see along the Oregon Trail, I've learned more about Mormons than I ever thought I would....

I wonder if it's feasible to skip hotels on the Oregon Trail trip and camp at state/national parks. I'd be sleeping in my car, sure, but it'd be cheaper, more authentic, and maybe even fun.

Then again, hotels have showers and nice beds....
