Thoughts Before Bed #1

While talking with a friend, I finally have a way to describe my feelings on the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, and why it feels so off to me.

Those of you who lived in the 70s and 80s might remember TV Shows based on popular movies. 9 to 5. Alice. Ferris Beuler.

Lilly Tomlin in 9 to 5 suddenly spoke Spanish and became Rita Moreno on TV. Vera was the same actress from "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore," but Flo was a completely different actress (And then the actress that played Flo in the movie showed up as Jolene, a completely different character). The universe was tweaked, as well. Alice in the movie stayed in Tucson. Alice in the TV series took place in Phoenix.

Each were trying to be the same show as the movie, but weren't quite right.

THAT'S how I feel about the new trilogy. It's trying to be the same universe as Star Wars...but...it's just not quite right. ALMOST there, but something's different.

Still planning to see the new one this week sometime. Maybe it'll change my mind.

Thoughts Before Bed #2

I'm probably going to also go see Cats. Marisa loved Cats, and she likely would have been there opening night. And I would have come along, because I enjoy trainwrecks.

I'll watch it for you, Sis. Cause you watched Street Fighter The Movie with me, and I owe you.

Sat on my bed to change into something more comfortable, passed our for two hours.
