I tend to anthropomorphize my every day objects, such as Cheyenne and Click. This leads me to kind of fall in love with them. I cried hard when I lost Cheyenne. And now I may be losing Click soon.
I know none of this is true, but I think she knows I'm planning to trade her in. Today, while we were first beginning the roadtrip, she decided she didn't like starting. That's the first time that had happened in a long long time. Then anytime I had to go in reverse (which happens a lot in the backwoods, because there's no room to turn around), she made a terrible growling sound.
I told her that she wasn't sounding to well, and we might have to go home. Then I put in a reverse gear and heard the growling noise again and then "CLANG!" And suddenly it was all better, no problem at all.
I got some gas, which I had to turn my car off for, and when I turned the key, she started right up. She wanted to drive some more. So we did.
And when I turned the wrong way and began going up a 4x4 trail that was rough and downright dangerous, she had no problems traversing the road (Although my steering to make sure we didn't bottom out or get caught in a rut probably helped). And when the road got chunky rough to the point I was worried about the tires and damaging my skid plate, she was just fine with it all.
Now I kinda don't want to give her away for the truck. She really does things she shouldn't, and does them well. She got her name by driving on a freaking lake-bed to a sand bar with an old ghost town on it, for cryin' out loud.
And she kinda seems to like it.
