As much as I wish I could do Extra Life this year, I'm too devastated from everything to really do anything for 8 hours much less 24 hours straight, even for charity.

I feel like a heel for not being able to do it cause it's for the kids, but this year has wrecked me, and I don't know when or even if I can be repaired.

Joe Biden is a wierd pick for the 14th Doctor, but, sure. I'll roll with it.

Joe Biden has won the Presidency. Celebrate today. Heck take the weekend. We've all earned it.

Things to remember for Monday:

1) This is a big one for Georgia voters: Democrats currently do not control the Senate, and if Mitch McConnell is in charge, he'll blockade everything like he did during the Obama administration. There are two races going to run off. A liberal controlled House/Senate and Presidency will work a lot better without McConnell. VOTE IN THOSE RUNOFFS. GET YOUR FRIENDS TO VOTE IN THOSE RUNOFFS. GET OUT THERE AND SAVE AMERICA LIKE YOU GOT OUT THERE AND SAVED IT FROM TRUMP.

2) We're not out of the fire just yet. The Electoral College meets December 14th, and as we saw in 2016 in Washington, you can have faithless electors vote for a person other than the winner of the race, as designed by the Constitution. While Biden likely has enough votes to negate this threat, it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on the process to make sure you make your voice heard if the chosen electors look to be against the winner of your state.

3) There are two months between now and January 20th. A lot of damage can be done in two month by outgoing administration bent on "If I can't have it, no one will." SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. Talk to your representatives. Talk to your senators. Often. It's their job to listen, even if they're not in your party. Do it anyways. Even if they're on record that they won't listen to opposing voices.

4) After January 20th, the destructive elements of the Republican Party will still be there. They may cause trouble, they may rise up. Likely, though, they'll go underground. THEY ARE STILL THERE. A wise fictional philosopher once said "The danger is the danger is never over." Keep vigilant. Stamp out fascism where you can see it, wherever it may be.

5) This one is personal for me. Remember to thank your friends and neighbors for voting Democrat, especially if it went against their normal Socialist/Liberatarian/Other party affiliations. Lives depended on it and they are heroes.

6) January 21st? Start pushing the government left. We have forty years of right-wing policies and laws to start deconstructing. We will not become a Star Trek Post-Scarcity Socialist Society (or even the Democratic-Socialist governments on the level of our European Union friends) overnight, in these four years of a Biden term, or perhaps even in our lifetimes. But we must make the moves back to the left. Take and hold every inch no matter how long it takes.

But for today and tomorrow? Relax, enjoy the victory, and party safely and healthily.

Takeaways from the Biden/Harris speech tonight.

1) GodDAMN it was good to see a genuine smile from our future leaders, instead of a smirk.

2) I've never been a fan of PolitiSpeak, but for once, I welcomed it instead of a rambling angry know-it-all blubbering into the wind.

3) Kamala Harris. First woman vice president. First black vice president. First south asian vice president. I have some issues with her, but I am damned proud she has three firsts.

4) Biden said "transgender." He didn't forget us. I hope that continues.

5) Biden also said "Republican." If he wants to reach across the aisle and work with Republicans, I want a promise from him: Call Them Out On Their Shit And Dish Out Consequences. President Obama reached out and McConnell stalled his presidency for YEARS with that.

6) Biden scared Ada for some reason. She spent most of the speech tucked and hiding in my arms. Tried to convince her he was a nice guy but she wasn't having that.

7) I didn't get choked up until the fireworks.

8) When I heard Simply the Best and the camera drone panned over cars I thought we went to a Chevy Commercial.

I'm looking forward to the next four years. But I'm also looking forward to consequences for the last ten. You want to work with the Republicans? Fine. There HAS to be a reckoning, though, if not for the past actions, for the ones they may take in the future.

Good luck Mister President, and Madam Vice-President. We're counting on you.
