Oct. 15th, 2021 10:02 amA friend of mine got her gender involuntarily legally changed from F to M in Texas. One of the BIGGEST reasons I won't move back to Texas given how sketchy I got that F to begin with.
TXDoT flipped it themselves on my Driver's License without asking any questions about 15 years ago, and everything I've done since to establish my legal gender has built on that. While my final changes to change the last of my gender markers were done with very official documents from my doctor, they're not legal documents Texas must comply with. And they likely won't.
If I go back, decades of work could be undone. And I just watched it happen to a friend.
