Back when I was a kid, we often spent weekends out at the property in the Hill Country. When we'd drive home, I'd usually sit in the back of the truck (the front was far too small for four people), and since it was summer (and the 1980s (and Texas)), it was totally street legal.
It was usually very late at night, too, so I'd usually lie down and look at the stars. We were on tiny roads far from the cities so you could see ALL the stars at night.
I miss that. I need to find a place out here remote enough to do that again. It's pretty dark where I am, but not In The Middle of Nowhere dark.
