So, for my trip to Texas, I plan to leave my PC on so I can connect back to it as needed via VPN. I THINK I've got everything set up on it.

If the power goes out, the UPS runs to keep it running, and even if it runs out, once the power comes back up, the PC should as well. My main concern is if my IP changes over the course of a power outage. It shouldn't. I've never had an IP change before, but I've also never paid for a static IP.

I think my setup should work if the IP changes. My router actually has an app that will tell me my global IP on my phone from anywhere. But the VPN software is set to the global IP I have right now. I'm not sure it'll work if it changes. (I mean, my IP on the PC itself is my local IP, the router should handle the traffic no matter what IP it switches to).

Hopefully, there won't be a problem there and I'll have access to my network no matter where I am.

While we may not all agree on wether the Cowboy Bebop live action show was good or not (I'm squarely in the It Was Good camp), I think we can all agree the music was FANTASTIC.

Most everything in the house is cleaned so I'd don't have any ugly surprises when I get back from Texas. Still got several loads of dishes to do, but hopefully it'll all be done by tomorrow.
