I kind of wonder how it could ever be 'over' for anyone who lost somebody that day.
They are still finding fragments of bone in the surrounding buildings, too. Then there are the debates on what to build on the site of the WTC. Insurance settlements. Companies trying to rebuild.
And of course, bin Laden, who we have not apprehended. (And probably never will.) That leads to the War on Terror, and what is looking to be a war with Iraq.
From a certain point of view, this may never really be over. Just a thought.

They will. I'll be the first to admit it'll take more time than the rest of the population. But...you move on. Otherwise you redifine your life around a tragedy an that doesn't really do anyone any good, especially yourself.
>They are still finding fragments of bone in the surrounding buildings, too.
That they are...call it in, give the fragment the respect it deserves as a human remain and a lost soul, and move on.

Which is great - they're moving on.

This is a whole 'nuther can of worms I've already written about here. Let's just say that while one event led to another, I no longer believe they're related events.
Anyways, my comments were more aimed at news companies who constantly replay the 9/11 tragedy anytime some involved in the WTC gets a hangnail, or we get another terror alert.
We keep reopening this wound over and over again an never let it heal. And it's getting infected.
Those that have passed are in the places they need to be, despite the state of their bodies, claimed or unclaimed, and all that's left to us are our memories. We would not do to dwell on the pain and agony, but to remember that we are still alive, and need to be so. We've laid them to rest, and we've lived our lives. Tip your heads and say a prayer for them, yes, but then continue your life. Eat your food, make your bread, and LIVE. When something reminds you of someone you once knew, think of it as them telling you that they miss you and love you, and that they are in the hands of Deity now, and that all is as it should be. We all pass, and that also is, as it should be. The cycle of life continues. Another day, another year, another century, the same as we've had for hundreds of thousands of years. Why let those days pass in weeping for the dead, when very soon, we will pass, ourselves, and join them. Either through age, through *accident* of nature or some other cause, we will pass, and we shall join them. The world of the living is just that, a world to be lived in.
If these events touch you, make you weep, then live in response to it. Bare your teeth and declare your life and howl to the open skies that you live yet another day. Be defiant of death, dare him to take you, but know that one day he’ll claim you as well. Live each day as though it were the last. Each breath, each bite of food, each shared touch with another person, let it ALL be precious. For life IS. We have only now, and as soon as we live it, we experience it, each moment passes . . . it slips away . . . to be forgotten, or to twinkle in our minds eternally as a shining jewel of life. Collect those jewels over the treasures of gold and silver, for they are the far more precious, and the far more eternal, imprinting themselves on your soul.
Go in peace and love my friends, harm none, and bright blessings on you all.
