Hmm...my parents were going to get me $1000 to help with the bills. That was taken care of without them, but they still want to give me the money. Hmm, do I use it to repair Cheyenne (she just needs a new clutch) or a down payment on a new truck? The old girl may live again!

The question is, what will Cheyenne need fixed next month? next year?

Then again, a new truck would mean new debt to pay regularly - will your income be interrupted when you move back to Texas?

I am fond of old trucks :) but ya gotta weigh the alternatives.

That's a good question. She's 21 years old. Her engine is good and sound, and right now she just needs a clutch replacement. But she's also a 249,000 miles, and I'd planned to retire her at 250,000. The repair would only to be to milk a few more miles out of her. But it's still cheaper than a new truck.

I may or may not have a job come next February. I'd still bejsut starting payments on that new vehicle, and not sure of when I'd have employment again. Fixing the pickup seems like the right way to go...but so does a replacement as well.
