According to the EEOC, I have no case. I never even got a chance to tell the rep anything...she already knew who I was, told me I had no case, and said there was nothing else she could for me.

I guess I really am human refuse.

She didn't even bother to explain the supposed legal reasons for that analysis??! Just brushed you off??

Ask for her supervisor. Ask what the appeal process is. Ask her to cite precedent. Tell them you'll get the press involved with their lack of action.

Contact the ACLU.

Contact your previous employer and give them "one more chance to negotiate" before you contact the ACLU, the press, and "take things further with your EEOC complaint".

Actually call the press. Do you have a local/semi-local news station that has some kind of regular "We'll fight to make things right" news segment?

I'm with Toastyman, particularly on asking for a higher-up. It's their job to help you. Do not accept no for an answer from them.

A legal eagle TG friend of mine has already told me to drop it. The point was to file, good or bad. The filing is now on Harte Hanks record, win or lose.

I mentioned the ACLU thing to her and she told me it would be nice to get the ACLU involved, but the ACLU cannot change Texas Law. They can put my face on TV, gain sympathy for me, but most likely not enough to change the law.

The system failed me, but I filed, and now HH has a hash mark by their name.

The other advise given to me? Move out of Texas. Which is starting to look like a good idea. (As a matter of fact, che mentioned Chicago....)

You might also like to know that Baltimore just passed a law officially prohibiting discrimination against transgendered people. Granted, we're still the heroin capital of the nation, but chalk up a small one for the good guys, at least.
