You have your bad days, then you have your good.

I woke up today in a funk. I really didn't want to wake up at all...let me sleep until the general funk of the last week wears off (around 2012 or so).

However, a quick call to Erin and a shower later, and I was a new woman. Erin had written me about coming over for Sunday to have some fun.

She picked me up at home, and we drove to her and Marca's work to drop off a cake for another coworker. From there, we ran off to her house. Marca was gonna make some fried chicken, but she was beginning to get under the weather, and went for a nap. But not before the both of them presented me with a gift! Three gifts actually. They gave me a plush set of Powerpuff Girls! Just something to cheer me up, and they did. They're so cute. :)

The Tangent Clan has fed me numerous times. Andy is an excellent cook, as is Marca. They've treated me to dinner more times that I can count. And now it was time to return the favor. They wanted Fried Chicken, I made them Fried Chicken.

Well, not immediately.

Y'see, the cooking oil went mysteriously missing. I think it got fed up at the general state of it's existence, decided it needed to move on with it's life, and make something of it's self. I wish it all the best of luck.

If I've pissed anyone off with my use of "it's" over "its" let me know...I can never remember that rule.

One trip to the grocery store later, and not only did we have ourselves some cooking oil, but cumin as well. Gosh darn if I hadn't already breaded the chicken, we'd have had carne guisada and tortillas. It took about an hour of cooking and dinner was served. The rice coulda used more salt, I admit, but I've never made food for a family of four before....

It really makes me happy to see people enjoying something I've made, wether it's a sketch or food. Something about doing something GOOD makes me feel good.

Next time, Carne Guisada and Tortillas.

Andy and MArca retreated to their respective games of Roller Coaster Tycoon, and I played with Shawn as Erin made a hugefangled contraption for a Hot Wheels racing set. We launched cars through loops and ramps. Erin had no idea I was into Transformers, and I completely shocked her when I told her I have several...and that I play with them!

But all good things must come to an end, and as they were all playing, I felt the bits and pieces of sadness beginning to take hold of their footholds yet again. Thank you, Tangents, for giving one day's respite from the world.

After a time, it came time to go home...and after a long talk in the parking lot, what do I find when I get here? Groceries! Deener came over while I was out to do some computer work and bought me groceries. She's a real sweetie...she helps me out so much. I gotta admit, I still love her with all my heart, and it's things like this which make it hard for me to try and admit the relationship we had before was over. Thank you, sweets, wherever you are.

I ate three oranges (live on a diet filled with spaghetti, fideo and canned vegetables, and I'd eat a whole pineapple) alone today. Tasty stuff.

And here I sit. I'm seeing Deener tomorrow, hopefully. I think I will like that. Very much.

A good day was had by all. And I'm glad - we all need to be happy now. The Long Twilight Struggle looms ahead.
