Saturday
Woke up and left ASAP. Got to Dean's and watched a few episodes of Sealab 2021 and Aqua Teen hunger Force...mainly as a warm up to the days main event - the Powerpuff Girls Movie.
Now I seriously debated not going to see it. I tend to have Cartoon Network on a lot. And they've been running the Powerpuff Girls into the ground. They constantly show the cartoon (taking over some of my faves), MANY times a day, they put one promo on every commercial break, and even started making Powerpuff Girl Promos with other Cartoon Network characters.
That kinda overload gets to you, and I was seriously already so oversaturated with Powerpuff Girls that I really didn't want to see it anymore. Remember the old days when they'd run something into the ground AFTER the movie came out? :)
Anyways, I'm glad I went. Not only is the movie good, but the opening tag game is worth the admission price alone. The rest is all gravy from there...and I really got to appreciate Mojo Jojo. He becomes a villain for the same reason I consider becoming a hermit. Oh, the final "Mojo Monkeys" scene is worth a second vieweing, too.

After that, we hit the Oriental Store at Lamar and US 183. It's about half the size of Tim's in San Antonio, but has a lot more food orientated stuff, while Tim's has more plates, toys and non-groceries. Dean got freaked out by the fish, proudly displayed out of the coolers (and crammed into glass bottles), and I revelled in the ramen section. We bought candy, ramen and I bought some honest to goodness madras curry paste. I can use it in the next two weeks....
Fromt here, we hit Thai Noodle House for food type stuff. I got some lemony shrimp plate that was good until I got to the bottom of the plate, where I seemed to be tasting pure concentrated lemon juice, which overpowered everything else, including the shrimp. It was good, though - next time I'll just eat the top half of it.
Back home for a night of more animation, tarot fun, and good long talks about our lives.
The day was enjoyed....
Sunday
The entire day was spent frantically drawing, inking and coloring what I consider are the two cheapest looking comics I've done in a while. I'm not tired of drawing my comics, I just have a bad habit of putting it off until to late. Not to mention that my plan to have a reduced number of panels in AWFW #19 and text boxes for a LONG conversation made the strip look even worse. To make up for it, AWFW #19 is in color...hope it looks alirght. Many people are loving the last panel of CS #8...hope that makes up for the rest of the strip.
Monday
Woke up, and puttered around the house, cleaning up here and there. I wanted to take a shower early and do dishes, but the guys who came to fix the sceptic tanks came at EXACTLY the wrong time for that...so I sat around. I didn't draw (bad jenn!) and played with the Very nice P4. They finally left in time for me to take a shwoer and head off to the Spaghetti Warehouse...a nice farewell dinner for Erin and MArca who, right about now, should be landing in Thailand.
I spent most of the night feeling kinda off about the whole thing. Erin is taking off, and when she comes back, she'll...well...be a she. I've prolly harped about this more than I can mention, but it kinda bugs me...and I'm intensley envious and jealous that she's got it all done. Front to back. I'm still spinnin' me wheels, hoping the car'll take off again.
Maybe I need my motor checked out. Keeps stallin'.
My computer is now a full fledged Pentium II 233Mhz. It's not a screaming machine, but it's super stable, now. And a nice bit faster. They're secondary computer went out and now mine is actring-secondary computer. Too bad I could add my old SIMMs to the board...I've got a nice fast machine, running 32MB. :)
They woke up about 3AM, and after much frantic running and occasioanl shrieking of the work "EEK!" they took off on the first leg of their trip. I drove home and went to bed feeling kinda down.
Until Erin's alarm went off. I spent a good five minutes trying to figure out how to turn it off....I just unplugged it after I couldn't figure it out.
Tuesday
Today has been slow and plodding. Got to the dishes I didn't get a chance to. Puttered around. Watched a cool thunderstorm. Tomorrow, I'll draw...I already have ideas for AWFW#20, most involve reussing old artwork. (#26 should be something special as a six month anniversary of the series - any suggestions?). CS #9 should be a hoot if I can pull it off. Hope all goes well with Erin and Marca....wish her luck! It IS major surgery....
