Well, I made the highest score on the aptitude test. It's a basic A+ test, and I made an 81%. I woulda been happier if I was more awake. These hours will DESTROY me. I remember my first training...top of the class, managers fighting over me, given a cushy job three days before training ended...and I almost quit because I could NOT wake up at 6AM anymore.
Thankfully this training is only 16 days, and not the 25 they were before.
However, some things were nice. I got my old badge number back, and the seniority that goes with it. The training is like running the 2000 version of a car make you bought in 1990. It looks really different, but once you test the seats and the get a feel for the road it all comes back to you.
Service Tag 66654 still exists, so that's one bright spot. :)
I contacted my former manager, let him know I was in the building. A friendly wave. One I hope gets seen as a signal of "I WANT TO WORK FOR YOU AGAIN, THANKS!"
I can still belt out 65 Emails a day, dude. :)
The worrying thing is that I checked to see if he was still around, and is. And half the names are American, and half are Indian. Maybe I shoulda waited on that Email before I found out if he's in India or Austin.
We are Known Temps. We're not expected to be "converted" unless we get certificates, and even then, we may not be hired. A new call center is opening in Panama, as well as an addition to Bangalore, India. Hopefully, I can get all my certificates before we're told "Don't come back." Gold Queue is A+ Certified, MCSE certified, and all American techies. I need to get in there ASAP.
