Okay, no time to write here after work, so I'll write during work. Don't like to do that (too many prying eyes (real and virtual)) but if I don't do it here, I don't do it at all.

On Sunday, I made a girl cry. I didn't want to, but she dropped her system. Drops and falls aren't covered under the standard warranty, and I really couldn't dispatch any parts to begin with because the machine wasn't in her name. I told her it would be upwards of $500 to repair out of warranty.

She got her revenge.

Monday night it began.

Person called in for support on her CPiA computer, two months out of warranty. That caught fire. She got a replacement system, sure...but the paperwork for that took upwards of two hours with the woman on the line talking my ear off. To her credit, she wasn't mad or screaming...just very concerned. She was happy with the resolution even if my supervisor and myself weren't happy with all the paperwork.

From there, Dean and I took off to see Raiders of the Lost Ark as done by 12 year olds. It just rocked. It so rocked my socks. These kids probably didn't know how to put a movie together when they started, but they sure did a good job. It was like seeing a midget public access version of the movie...which is not an insult. These guys did a great job, and even wrangled a way to film on the USS Alabama for the boat scenes. And Snickers did a great job as "The Monkey."

And seeing these kids make the movie makes me wonder if I should try that Flash animation thing I've been thinking about.

Come into work the next day, the curse of the Crying Sorority Girl continued:

The first call of the day was from Fort Bliss. Usually the military calls are handled wonderfully. They've done everything to test, and we usually just ask what they did and ship out a part. This time, the person on the other end just huffed and whined about not being in front of the machine to do troubleshooting. And then just started lying about troubleshooting steps. "Yes, I did that." "Yes, I did that." and so on. Well, since we can't PROVE she didn't do it, we sent out her part...but I thought the military was trained better than that.

Second call of the day was a guy who was demanding a technician be sent out to install his hard drive. Normally hard drives are customer replaceable units, they unly have one screw, and pop right into the side. This guy was demanding a technician to come out and install his hard drive. Not because it was too tough for him to do...but because he didn't have a screwdriver nearby.

No.

Third call of the day was a guy who demanded to talk to a manager. So as usual, the manager shuffle begins. Now, something of note. The troublesome supervisor I had before is not my supervisor anymore. I have a new one who really rocks. Thing is, I haven't had the need to grab a manager since I was put on the new team. So I call around and ask who I need to contact to get a manager, and I'm told we literally grab our manager if you can get him (Really? And here my previous one was saying NEVER DO THAT) or your supervisor. So I got on the horn to my supervisor who took the call no questions asked.

Well, he WOULD have taken the call had the customer not dropped.

All would have been well and good, but then my supervisor looked at me and said "You're on my team, right?" Yup. "Great, when do you leave tonight?" 8PM "Great..."

Three minutes later I get an Email - "1 on 1 at 4:30 that afternoon with the supervisor."

Fourth call of the day, was a guy who had a stolen system. And he gladly gave me all his information and his name and everything....while this isn't a bad thing, it's another thing to do all the paperwork for it, especially while trying to keep a suspicious stealer on the line...and making him feel like there's nothing wrong on my end.

By this time I was just ready to scream with these calls.

The 1 on 1 wasn't bad at all. Basically just a "Getting to know you, here are your metrics." I'm not doing bad. In some cases I'm doing spectacularly well...but in ither cases I'm going down...which is not a good thing. Then again, I'm just not motivated in the job anymore and just want to get out of the tech/customer service biz.

The day ends, with only 12 calls (my average is 25) and I go home. Lucy lent me a tablet for drawing, and while I wouldn't use it for drawing, it definately made everything ELSE work a heck of a lot better, so I plan to get one (assuming of course, she doesn't plan to donate one first).

Now, I'm back on my meds...one of which is a pretty severe diuretic (for those that don't know the word Diuretic it means "Turns you into a pee machine"). I hate drinking water all the time...especially when it gets to the point that water gets this wierd "taste" to it because you've drunk so much. But if I don't drink enough, I get dehydrated VERY quickly.

Well, as part of the curse of the crying sorority banshee, I made the bad decision to drink tea and coke most of the day. I was really tired of water. On top of that I didn't drink a huge glass of water before bed. I wanted an uninterrupted 8 hours of sleep.

I still couldn't get away from the Pills of Doom (compounded by Curse of the Sorority Banshee). That night I dreamed that I woke up and went to the restroom..and when I flushed, the toilet exploded in a huge gush of water. sure it slowed to a trickle...but that's when the Air Conditioning duct decided to start pouring on me as well. Everytime I put pressure on the floor, it would gush harder, and right at me. I woke up realizing that my body was trying to tell me I was simply out of water.

Why?

Because even though I didn't drink any water, I was still peeing like a madwoman.

So I ended up waking up, my eyes dry, my mouth dry, my nose dry, everything on my just dried up and shriveled. And then downed 32 ounces of water in one gulp...then went back to bed. (Only to get up five minutes later followed by another gulp of water and another five minute wakeup call...but you get the picture :) )

This morning I still feel like hell, and have another 32 ounces of water here. I better be building a strong and healthy bladder out of this....
