I wanted my hair to be that green once. I even asked my mom if she'd dye it green. She said no, but only because it wouldn't match my skin tone. She offered up eggplant or another dark purple.

I was so angry I couldn't have green hair that it was only years later I realized she was willing to dye my hair a non-standard color...at my tender age of 11...with a smile.
