I'LL TEACH YOU TO WHISTLE ON THE SABBATH!
Feb. 23rd, 2006 07:43 pmWell, I placed the order for the posters. I've really only sold 9, but ordered 10. Maybe I'll sell the last one at the upcoming Staple event thingy. Kinko's has really changed. I was hoping to get a full size "proof" of the poster, which would be print #1 of the 10. Proofs, when I was there, were free (usually, they were the "first copy" of whatever you made, so you paid for them, yes, but not if you didn't like it). Now they charge.
And I didn't get a full size proof - I got an 8x9. Kinda defeats the purpose of a proof - what I got didn't represent the poster, but an 8x9 sheet.
That said, the 8x9 is actually REALLY nice. If the posters are the same quality, I'll be happy with them. I really like how blue Allison's hair is. It's hard to see in the comics, but Allison's hair is a very deep dark blue. It comes out GORGEOUSLY on the print, and the poster should be an even more solid blue. Even the slight color variation on the titles comes out very vividly. The purple and gold behind the titles looks the same on the screen, but is very noticably different in the poster.
There are one or two things I don't like so much, though - the faded colors leading into the characters is VERY VERY VERY stripey, more than it should be. It's not all that noticable unless you look VERY closely, but it's there. Also, the glow around Hanna is visible, but not around Andrea.
Still, I'm 99% happy with the proof. At worst, I'll be 98% happy with the posters. :)
They'll be in my hands come Monday. :D
