The second girl from the left looks a wee bit out of place: that looks like the girl "Gogo" from Kill Bill. She even looks like she is holding that chain (she fought Uma Thurman by swinging around a metal ball attached to a chain).
Weird. I had never really realized how non-asian the anime really is. I mean, it is a Japanese show, with Japanese characters, with Japanese names. But put real Japanese people in the costumes, and it looks wrong.
There's some sort of national psychology lesson there, isn't there?
I've always chalked it up to style versus psychology...but you're right. There is an anime series called "Patlabor" where everyone has the standard Anime look...and a specifically Japanese character who actually LOOKS Japanese. But just the one, specifically mentioned as Japanese. And it's the only time I've ever seen that.
Makes ya wonder if there's some sort of image issue they have?
(Then again, put a normal person in Psylocke costume, or a Hulk costume, and they'll look all wrong, too)
