Oct. 10th, 2006 03:01 amAloo Matar with Basmati Rice and Pappadums. Now THIS is Indian food. Well, sorta. It was good but it would have been spectacular if I'd cooked the rice right instead. I didn't cook it long enough...but it wasn't bad. But I decided that maybe I should try it again, and this time make better rice....
Aloo Matar with Basmati Rice and Samosas. Okay, this time, it was terrible, again by my own hand. I've decided that I WILL buy this again, but I'm really an incompetent cook. The rice last time was still a bit raw, so this time, I boiled the heck out of it until it softened up...I kept adding more and more water...and eventually ended up with fluffy edible rice. Enough to feed an army...and not enough leftover Aloo Matar to fill it out. Bleh. The samosas kicked ass, thought.
Yakiniku Beef Bowl with pork cabbage dumplings and hot and sour soup. VERY tasty. I'll be getting this again...but I won't make so many dumplings...
