dolariWith Emily back in Canada, the only way to be with each other is Second Life, again. Now that we're back in there, some things have changed.
1) I got a haircut.
Before:
I rather liked this. When I first signed on to SL, I wasn't too happy about the hair choices and made the best Carrie Hair I could. IT wasn't bad, to be honest. After a while I grew VERY fond of it, and thought it wasn't a bad "translation" at all.
After:
The color is a little darker that I like, since Carrie really is a copper top, but I do like the way the bangs poof out like hers does, and it's not a bad approximation of how she looks in the comics. This picture doesn't do her justice, though. The bangs don't "pop up" as much as you see here, it's just how the angle was when I took the pic. What do you think?
2) While Emily was here, the property behind my house was put up for sale. I bought it and moved the house "down" a bit freeing up room in the front yard and backyard. The property isn't even, though, so some new renovations were made.
Backyard:
The house now hangs about 6 feet above where it used to, so the patio was deepened, and stairs added using a texture made from pictures taken from Emily's trip. The vertical wooden planks and the "Default Texture" side stairs will be changed when I can think of what I want them changed to.
The East Yard:
The big fountain Mari gave us was moved a bit farther back into the back yard, leaving this area open. A cuddle blanket is there for looking at the night sky. However, my place gets a LOT of traffic (and I'd rather they not leer), so I'm thinking of taking out the blanket and putting in a picnic table.
The Front Porch and Living Room:
The interior has been moved around to be more spacious, with a couple of untextured benches and a coffee table. The "Console" was deleted and the firepace moved to the wall by the door. The spanish tile texture was added to the deck.
3) The Front Lawn and Waterfalls
The smaller mirror ball fountain was moved south with the house resulting in a big bare area in the back. So a new detatched Patio was added in.
The original patio didn't have the pools in the back, or the PSP "ears" on either side. While the place was populated with trees, it was still very bare, and unfortunately, the gigantic hill on the side made it hard to do anything with the area back there.
Obake gave me this giganitc huge tree, which we put in the back yard as a little place for him to hang out. The tree has tons of branches and cubby holes to hang out in, which he likes to do. I'm also a big fan of trees and this monster was nice to have in the backyard...but it wasn't enough.
So we added a series of pools...
...fed by waterfalls. :)
Now the backyard was finally filled in, we had a cool looking waterfall with lots of ledges and areas to sit and splash. We've had TONS of people complimenting out yard and how natural it looks and how pleasant it is to hang out there now.
We like it too. :)
