Hot damn, what an EXCELLENT day!

1) All AWFW and CS panels are pencilled and ready and rarin' ta be inked tomorrow. this means I an spend the whole day inking, and get it looking nice. Considering we've had an improptu two weeks off, I think the readers (those that know where to look) will be pleased.

2) After a little hassle with the Post Office (uh...we misplaced your box) I got two packages:

2a) One from Elenderel who sent me a HUGE box of pastas, canned goods, teas, popcorn and general food goodness. I've already had the Red Beans and Rice (one of my fave meals). Came at the nick of time, too. :D Tasty foods. Gina! What tea do you suggest I try first?

2b) The second package came from Kevin, who is literally becoming Jenn's Man of the Moment. Not only does he give me webspace, not only does he host my domain name, but he sent me a box of computer parts. A few entries ago he asked for my address to send some networking parts to. I figured he had an extra card to send me, so I gave it to him. The package contained two PCI network cards. One has been installed in Big Venus (cause it erases everything), and now both my computers (the other being R. Dorothy, cause it's a smartass) like talking to each other in XP.

But wait, there's MORE

2c) When I opened Kevin's package in the truck, I saw an envelope, which had an old Mortal Kombat 3 "Sell Sheet" and an MK3 stick on label. Coooooolll

...but when I got home...

2d) That's when I found the sound card, the old PC game pad, the old ISA soundblaster card, Shenmue, Tomb Raider III, Sonic Adventure (all for the dreamcast) and a Bleem! CD Key.

WOW.

It was like Christmas morning all over again. Thank you Kevin and Gina. Name your sketches. :)

3) I found a recipe onsite for making tortillas that was pretty simple, so I followed it to the letter. Unfortunately, again, the letter was wrong, but I did something different: I went at it REAL REAL REAL REAL slow. I blew the dough right off, but I knew where I messed up. I ended up spilling too much water in it...so I added more flour...and more flour...and more flour. I kneaded that mess for literally two hours. But I got it:

The last two (at 3 and 5 o'clock) were (almost) perfect. :) The first two were hard as a rock, and the third was...well...kinda wierd. But the other two cameout fine. I figured out what the problem is. The things have to "Flash fry." The insides need to be doughy, while the outsides need to be crispy. The only problem there is the heat was so high, I noticed the teflon starting to get dark, so I made that last two on a lower heat than I should have. Still, it was nice to have something CLOSE to what mom makes. :)

4) I cleaned house. And I mean CLEANED house.

Wow...what an excellent day. It's days like this that make me glad I have some good friends out there. Here, have a really stiff tortilla! :)

(I am SUCH a geek. I spent three paragraphs on computers, and one on food.)

Oooh. Tortillas like those are what El Charro, the local taco hut, uses to make their "Original Soft Shell Tacos" with. They are most wonderful things.

Computers and food... where's the problem? :)

Oh, and I thought I'd let you know that I finally had the chance to sit down and read through all the comics you have on dolari.org So you're still deliberating on the feeds idea after you get everything else straightened out, right? :)

tea for thee!

ooh I'm so happy that you like your package! Sorry so late in replying ... but you know how mid-week is for me.

The chamomile is good stuff. Steve likes the orange packets of tea, he thinks it's one of the best flavors out there. Personally, the Earl Grey is really good for winding down from a hectic day ... taking tiny sips while listening to classic jazz ... for me, it's a great Saturday kind of tea. I'd vote for the Earl Grey. :)
