So you're saying...he's a Kitty Hitler?

COMICS UPDATED (last Sunday)! Pick your poison - http://www.livejournal.com/~awfw and http://www.livejournal.com/~closetspace. Comments where they usually are - http://pub23.ezboard.com/bjennswebcomics
Sunday was a wasted day, mostly. I spent most of the evening working late on AWFW, and finally just passing out before I could finish CS. I'm determined not to let that happen again, and CS is actually mostly pencilled. I'm working on Allison's Big Reveal right now. People are going to hate me for how I handle that.
Monday was Christmas. :D
I FINALLY got the replacement DVD drive for the replacement DVD that didn't work that replaced the Wrongly Sent CD-ROM drive. It works. Nicely. :)
I also recieved, the same day, the Sigma Designs Realmagic XCard. Took my old Hollywood Plus DVD Hardware card and put it in Dean's machine, and put the XCard in mine. I was actually a bit dissapointed in it. The XCard does Progressive Scan, one of the main points for me to pick it up. But I must mis-understand what progressive scan is, because it looks exactly like the Hollywood Plus card which didn't say WHAT it did. Basically, I still get interlacing artifacts here and there, and screen "vibration" on some titles. The TV output looks fine, and seeing a DIVX movie on the screen ROCKS.
I'm also dissapointed that it has two modes: Output to TV and Take Over your Monitor. There's no window mode, like the Hollywood plus had. So I ended up having to tell it "Play to the TV" and wrap it back through the TV card to play in a window. I lose a little detail, gain a little ghosting, but I get my windows DVD back.
And, to top it off, I got the following DVDs: TRansformers Season 3 Part 2 (completeing my collection) Airplane, The Last Unicorn, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Drunken Master, The Grapes of Wrath and The Birdgcage. The joys of having two weeks worth of deliveries come in on one day. :)
Grapes of Wrath was NOT the movie I thought it was (altough it was a good one). What movie has one of the characters going on and on about "I'ma gonna get me a piece of bottomland?" Also, he Grapes of Wrath just kinda meanders along...no real plot, no real climax...just a loose set of scenes interconnected. When it ended I actually thought "That's it?"
The transfer of The Last Unicorn does NOT do the movie justice. But then, it's FHE, who have put out such finely crafted crap as the massively edited Robotech Saga (We cut 25 minutes out of episode #14! WOO!) and badly transferred Transformers videos.
House is clean, too. Amazing...but I feel like my Weekend has just melted away (I did ee everyone of the movies, so it didn't go away easily). And now it's bed time....

Once around that thar big woman is twice around big mountain!
Date: 2004-04-14 08:15 am (UTC)I love this movie and wish I had it myself.
Here's an interesting, and as far as I can tell, factual account of the events depicted in the movie, along with a horrendous tale of the IRS' blatant disregard for the people it is supposed to serve.

Date: 2004-04-15 03:59 pm (UTC)Besides, the goal is to have it run in a window, which I managed to get working. I just find it bad that the only immediate non-rain-dance options is No Screen/Full Screen.

Date: 2004-04-16 08:17 am (UTC)I didn't realize that the minimum tax on a self-employed person was $2000. Especially considering that your friend only made half that!
Glad I could help with that movie.
