You have my empathy. I'm the biggest loser on the planet - keys, wallets, gloves, bags, glasses, etc. Some people would call it flakiness, I prefer to think of it as a sign of genius - too deep in thought to pay attention to the mundane minutia of life ^_~
I used to have a wallet on a chain, after losing one to many wallets, and I never lost it. It was taken from me at knife point, but that's another story. I loved that wallet *sigh* - not really my style anymore (too butch). I find I do better with a pocketbook, more of a physical presence I guess.

For me it's "Good god I hate this job, only five more seconds, two, one. FLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" And then of course, I leave it all at work in my flight out of there.
It's so hard to find good man-servants these days
